Good Evening!

It's only a few days until Christmas and I find myself scrambling to complete my to-do list.  This post is one of the items on the aforementioned list!  Not only am I in the midst the Christmas season, I am also 1 month away from the birth of my 3rd child!  This is a very exciting and exhausting time!!

A new CHALLENGE is underway at Humble Pie Stamps!  The Bakers have decided to extend the Challenge an extra week because it is such a hectic time of year, therefore entries will be accepted until midnight, Thursday, December 31st EST.  We are requesting TAG or BOOKMARK submisssions from our wonderfully talented followers.  To find out all the details for this fun CHALLENGE please click HERE!

New Humble Pie Stamps CHALLENGE!

It's Sunday and the weather is a bit dismal...a perfect card making day!  I've been working feverishly to complete the Christmas cards I'd like to send out.  So far, I think I've mailed ten and will have another 10 to go shortly.  Some of you are probably thinking that my feverish pace isn't all that speedy and you're right, I'm certain I'm one of the slowest card makers ever, but I try! ;)  I hope your holiday preparations are coming along too!

Now on to this week's Challenge at Humble Pie Stamps.  The Bakers are inviting everyone to play along in the kitchen by submitting a creation featuring DRY EMBOSSING.  The use of a Humble Pie stamp is NOT MANDATORY for this project, but boy would we like to see them, if you've got them!!  The deadline for submissions is Thursday, December 17 at midnight EST.  There's still plenty of time to join the fun!  We have a great prize package, consisting of 3 winter-themed Humble Pie Stamps, patterned design paper and coordinating cardstock and embellies, for a lucky challenge participant, drawn at random.  The winner's name will be posted on Friday, December 18.  For further details regarding this week's DRY EMBOSSING CHALLENGE click HERE.

Hope to post a few of the Christmas cards I've created.

Have a fantastic week!

A Little late....

Hello All!

Hope you are enjoy your weekend.  We've had a busy one so far with an adult work-related Christmas party last night and a children's Christmas party today...'tis the Season!  Have the tree trimmed and few decorations up, but a little more to go and then there's the baking and cards.  I do realize I'm running out of time.  Yikes!!

Here's a quick post to inform that a random winner of the Monochromatic Humble Pie Stamps' Challenge was drawn in the wee hours of Friday morning.  Li-Bee-Ti won a terrific Humble Pie Prize Package, just perfect for this Christmas season!

A new LIFT Challenge has begun and is sure to be a lot of fun!  A winter themed Prize Package is up for grabs at the close of this current challenge!  Click HERE for all the details and a peek at the Humble Pie Bakers' inspirational lifts.

I'd like to share my version of this week's LIFT Challenge, below:

This frosty little guy was inked-up with StazOn Jet Black Ink and brought to life with the assistance of Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolour Sheets.  The shovel blade was shined-up with Judy Kins' Diamond Glaze.  His eyes, mouth and buttons were given a bit of sparkle thanks to Black Diamond Stickles and his snowy body was made to shimmer like Crystal (Stickles).

  • patterned design paper-Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly: Breezy Freezy

  • cardstock-teal is Core'dinations Black Magic Collection and winter white is unknown manufacturer

  • embossing-Cuttlebug's D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder

The majority of the fabulous ingredients for my card were obtained from THE TOWN SCRAPPER, home of HUMBLE PIE STAMPS (and much, much more).

Here's my altered item for this week's challenge:

Tile/Coaster Recipe:

  • stamp-HUMBLE PIE'S CHRYSANTHEMUM FAIRY (designed by Sophia Landry)

I inked-up the fairy with StazOn Jet Black, stamped her on a tile and coloured her with Pebble Inc. chalks.  To seal the coloured image, I sprayed the surface of the tile with a matte-finish acrylic spray, sprinkling some fairy glitter (AKA Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter by Stampendous!) over the wet surface.  A second coat of acrylic spray was later applied.

As you may notice in the photo, some bleeding did occur.  I'm uncertain why the bleeding occured, as I have not encountered this issue in previous tile projects.  In previous projects, I had not used StazOn ink, however I don't think StazOn would the problem.  I believe I used the some acrylic spray previously, but wonder if maybe the very cool temperature of the garage (where I did the spraying) may be to blame.  Any ideas??

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic weekend!

Thank yous must be sent out to our recent challenge participants!  Your creations inspired by Baker Kim's sketch were extremely enchanting!!  Please continue to share your delectable designs with us in the HUMBLE PIE kitchen!

This week's challenge was baked-up by another of our very talented kitchen mates, Maria the Baker.  Mmm, mmm did we have a blast with this one!  Maria and the rest of us Bakers are challenging everyone this week to develop a circular creation!  Come and join us in the kitchen...you'll be surprised at all the wonderful concoctions we've come up with!  Take a peek HERE...

This is my contribution to this week's special:

The SECRET Recipe:
The snowman and sentiment were printed-off  (as the rubber is in transit).  I used Prisma Pencil Crayons, odourless mineral spirits and blending stumps to colour the snowman and shade around the sentiment.  Black Diamond Stickles were used on the snowman's mouth and Cloud 9 Design's Rain Dots were used to accent his buttons and eyes.  Diamond Stickles were added to his body to add a little snowy shimmer.  The stitching was inked-up with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.
  • patterned design paper-imaginisce Polar Expressions Glitter collection
  • cardstock-green is Crafts Etc!, red is core'dinations' Super Assortments Nostalgia
  • embossing-D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
  • stars icon-Wild Card Cricut Cartridge
  • bling-green rhinestones are KaiserScrapbook and red star is Bo Bunny Buttons and Bling
I really enjoyed working on this card!  Working on something that is neither square nor rectangular added a dimension to this project and made putting the card together a little more interesting.  If you haven't given a circular card a shot...why not take a step on the wild side and share it with us at HUMBLE PIE!!

Just a little reminder, the HUMBLE PIE NEW STAMPS' RELEASE BLOP will soon end!!  Be sure to head over to Kim's Blog to begin the FUN.  Visit each of the blop stops, leave a message on each and you'll soon find yourself at the HUMBLE PIE STAMPS BLOG for the grand finale.  There are many prizes up for grabs, but you must play along before midnight tonight EST.

But, before you go, take a few minutes to check out my blog today! I have some eye candy, and some blog candy to give away!  Today, as part of our Blop, I am offering a few ever-so-sweet stamped Humble Pie images, some Christmas design paper, and embelishments.

I am somewhat new to the stamping world.  I stamped my first images for Christmas cards in the early 90s and then gave it a second shot when I stamped my wedding invitations 10 years ago.   I consider myself a newbie to what I believe is now a novel approach to stamping and card making, in general.  My interest  in stamping was reignited about a year or so ago and I do not believe my enthusiasm for this craft will ever waver again.  There is such a multitude of stamping-related products and so much to learn!!

I am a Blog Manager for Humble Pie Stamps and love all that being a part of this terrific team of Bakers has provided me!  We haven't been around long, but we've already accomplished a great deal in the Humble Pie kitchen.  It 's a thrill to be involved with such a talented group of ladies!

For today's BLOP, I decided to play with one of our new snowman images and here is what I came up with:

Card Details:

  • images-the snowman and the sentiment are members of Humble Pie's Sweetie Pie line, snowflake is The Greeting Farm

This "frosty" snowman image was coloured with Reeves Watercolour Pencils and Odourless Mineral Spirits.  Black Diamond Stickles were used to accentuate the snowman's buttons, mouth and eyes.  Diamond Stickles added some sparkle to the string of lights around his hat and body.  I added some shine to the hat and broom handle with Judy Kins' Diamond Glaze.  The snowflake was inked-up with VersaMark Ink.

  • design paper-imaginisce's Polar Expressions collection
  • cardstock-from unknown variety pack
  • ribbon-Go With The Grain
  • brads- We R Memory Keepers Glitter Brads
What do you think? Wanna know how to win my blog candy prize? Leave me a comment today on this post to let me know you were here, that you did the hop and that you want to be entered to win the scrappy prize from me. You are only eligible if you comment here before 11:59 p.m. (EST) Friday, November 6. I will randomly pick and announce my winner on Saturday, Nov 7.

Thank you for joining us on the Blop today. Be sure to make your way to the next blog - Phebe's Blog, http://humblepiethetownscrapper.blogspot.com/ - which is your next stop. Don't forget to leave a comment...you must comment on each blog to be eligible for the GRAND PRIZE!

By the way, why not check out this week's Humble Pie Sketch Challenge?  There's still time to submit your creation and be eligible for the randomly drawn prize of $10 in Maggie Money.  The challenge is open until Midnight, Thursday November 5th (EST).

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Today's post is my HALLOWEEN-THEMED, NON-CARD design.  It features Maggie (who has decided to replace her summer season strawberry with a couple of carved jack-o-lanterns).  I chose to decorate a cardboard box in which one might (if not too late) find baking.

Hello and Good Afternoon!!

A couple of tidbits of info that I'd like to share before I provide the recipe for my submission to the HUMBLE PIE BLOG CHALLENGE of the week:

First of all, I 'd like to congratulate our very talented winner of last week's HUMBLE PIE SCALLOPS CHALLENGE, JACILYNN of http://jacilynndashwood.blogspot.com/!  Jacilynn's winnings consisted of $10 in HUMBLE PIE BUCKS to be used towards the purchase of any of HUMBLE PIE'S FABULOUS SWEETIE PIE STAMPS.  Congratulations Jacilynn!!  A special thank you also goes out to our other player in the 'Scallops' challenge, Itzuv.  The kitchen staff at HUMBLE PIE appreciate your efforts and love to see your wonderful creations!  Please keep sharing your delightful designs!!

Now, on to this week's HUMBLE PIE CHALLENGE.  This week the challenge we put forth is to incorporate BUTTONS AND BLING into your creation.  Can a card ever have too many buttons or too much bling? Not in our opinion!! We know we're new on the scene so the use of a HUMBLE PIE STAMP is NOT REQUIRED for this challenge. If you have managed to get your inky fingers on one of our FAB stamps however, we would love to see it in action! The HUMBLE PIE BAKERS have cooked-up a delectable sampling of BUTTON AND BLINGIFIED creations for a little inspiration. Come on, check them out HERE, you won't be disappointed!

My card for BUTTONS AND BLING features our little SWEETIE PIE Ellie.  I LOVE her whimsical appearance, don't you?

Now, on to some business.  The NEW HUMBLE PIE STAMPS BLOG was revealed only yesterday.  Have you checked it out?  Take a peek and feast your eyes on our new line of SWEETIE PIE stamps, as well as the beautiful cards the HUMBLE PIE BAKERS have whipped-up. You'll also see the deets of our very FIRST HUMBLE PIE CHALLENGE (AND PICS OF THE CANDY AWARDED TO THE WINNER OF THE CHALLENGE).  Here's a little nibble....
