EEEK! Are you afraid of mice?

TGIF!!  I couldn't wait for this weekend to arrive.  The boys are so excited to get dressed-up and head out the door on Sunday.  This year my eldest has chosen to dress-up as Iron Man.  No, he has not seen the movie, he is far too young...he'd be scared silly.  I haven't seen it either, I'm a real chicken when it comes to anything a little scary.  My middle guy had his heart set on Spiderman.  Our nine month old (boy, time flies) will dress as a little bat.  I will be sure to post a Halloween pic of the three boys all costumed-up.

Now, on to my Halloween-themed cards.  I made cards for each of the boys' teachers.  Spiderman, or SPIDER HENRY was the ideal choice.  WHIFF OF JOY offers this ADORABLE superhero as a FREE DIGI.  He can be found here...THANK YOU WHIFF OF JOY!!!

As you'll see I used the same image for both cards, but changed-up the layouts a bit.  I was absolutely dying to give double-sided adhesive sheets and glitter a shot.  Phebe, the TOWN SCRAPPER, generously provided me with some supplies so I was off to the races.  Henry was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and odourless mineral spirits.  The first card is based on a Mojo Monday card sketch.  Here are my two similar guinea pig creations:

Well, that's it for today.  Just a little reminder of THE TOWN SCRAPPER'S current BUTTON CHALLENGE now underway.  Check out all the details, HERE.

HAPPY HAUNTING!

NEW TOWN SCRAPPER CHALLENGE AND SHOWCASE

Good Afternoon!

It's Monday, the day we SCRAPETTES set aside to showcase some of the unique and fabulous stamps Phebe carries in her store, THE TOWN SCRAPPER.  Today we're focusing on the wonderful images of Mo Manning, The Greeting Farm, Kraftin' Kimmie and one of my absolute favourites, Whiff of Joy.

The above image is Whiff of Joy's Citrus Tree.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things.  This is my first attempt at an easel card...can't wait to make another!!

A quick reminder that there are still 3 days left to take part in this week's TOWN SCRAPPER SKETCH CHALLENGE.  The adorable LELA will be awarded to one lucky participant.  Click HERE for the SCRAPETTES' inspiring sketch creations and all the challenge details.

Happy Marvelous Monday!

It's a wonderful warm (well as warm as the beginning of March can be) and sunny day today in my neck of the woods.  Hope you're enjoying the weather where ever you may be.  Not only is the weather cooperating, it just happens to be Showcase Monday at The Town Scrapper Blog.  Does it get any better than that?!

Today, I'm showcasing a Whiff of Joy set, one of the many various stamp companies carried by Phebe/The Town Scrapper.  I love this little set of tree and sentiment because it is so very versatile.
Card Details:

  • stamps-tree and sentiment ("Love grows happiness") are Whiff of Joy creations, heart (stamped with Versamark) is Hanna Stamps, "Thanks a bunch" sentiment by My Favourite Things.

The tree was inked-up with Jet Black StazOn ink and painted with Nicholson's Watercolour Sheets.  The sentiments were stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black.

  • paper-Bazzill and Core'dinations
  • flowers-Prima, centers are We R Memory Keepers brads
  • embossing-D'vine Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug
  • card template-Cricut's Wild Card
I hope you found this card interesting.  I had a lot of fun creating it!

Another tidbit of information....we are welcoming TWO new super Design Team Members to The Town Scrapper.  Kylie hails from NSW, Australia and Kelly calls the province of Alberta(Cananda) home.  Please check out their introductions HERE.  Welcome ladies!

On a sad note however, our DT Member Angie will be bidding us "Adieu".  It was wonderful to work with Angie and we thank her for sharing her fantastic creations with us.

Until my next post,

Tricia

Happy Thursday!
This afternoon's post features a cute Whiff of Joy stamp. I also received this stamp from Phebe, The Town Scrapper. Matthew comes with the sentiment seen on the card, "Thinking of You!". I've been wanting to try to give some of my stamped images a darker skin tone, but wasn't sure of an appropriate color. I decided to try "warm sepia" Peerless Watercolours on Matthew and I think it wasn't a bad choice. I will continue to experiment with other shades.
Card Details:
  • stamp-Whiff of Joy's Lying Matthew with Sentiment

Matthew was inked-up with StazOn Jet Black and coloured using Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Water Colors. I added a little shimmer to his wings with Diamond Stickles. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black.

  • patterned dp-unknown
  • cardstock-Turquoise(Bazzill Basics Paper, Crisscross, Light pkg), cream(Core'dinations ColorCore, The Chocolate Box collection)
  • ribbon-Offray Grosgrain Black
  • eyelets-We R Memory Keepers

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good Morning!
It is an absolutely beautiful morning. The boys and I will head outside for a bit after lunch. I wanted to post this card this morning. It features the Whiff of Joy stamp of which I spoke in my previous post. I tried to finish it last night, but struggled with the card layout. I still think the layout needs a little work, but none the less, here it is...
Card Details:
  • stamps-main image is Whiff of Joy's Melinda with Bouquet(Guardian Angel Collection), sentiment is Whiff of Joy(fairy-themed set)

Melinda was stamped with StazOn Jet Black and coloured with Reeves Watercolour Pencils. The watercolour paper I use is Fabriano, cold pressed, 140 lbs paper. Her polka dots were accented with Judy Kin's Diamond Glaze. I added a little sparkle to Melinda's wings using Diamond Stickles. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMagic's Dew Drop Chalk Ink in Jumbo Java.

  • patterned and solid design paper-BellaBella by Carina Gardner "French Flea Market" line(My Mind's Eye)
  • die cuts-Spellbinder's Nestabilities Labels Four
  • ribbon-Offray Simply Sheer Medium Brown
  • brads-Glitter Brads(We R Memory Keepers)

Phebe, The Town Scrapper carries the stamps, StazOn ink, brads, Stickles, watercolour paper and design paper used to create this card.

Have a super day!
