Hi All!

Just got back from a little shopping trip with the family.  I decided to go through my last post and whoa....I think I must have been half asleep on Friday. :)  I realized I had described in detail a project for which I had not posted photos.  A few links were also missing...so sorry!!!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

It's the day for which we've been waiting all week.  Today I have a new Halloween-themed creation to share!  I also have all the details regarding HUMBLE PIE'S NEW CHALLENGE!!

This week the BAKERS at HUMBLE PIE, challenge you to devise a HALLOWEEN-THEMED, NON-CARD item. We realize we're a new player in the stamping world, therefore the use of a HUMBLE PIE image is NOT MANDATORY. ****** $10.00 in Humble Pie Maggie Money! ******

In need of a little inspiration for this week's challenge?  Click HERE for some awe-insipirng samples from the HUMBLE PIE kitchen.

Today's post is my HALLOWEEN-THEMED, NON-CARD design.  It features Maggie (who has decided to replace her summer season strawberry with a couple of carved jack-o-lanterns).  I chose to decorate a cardboard box in which one might (if not too late) find baking.

Details:
  • stamps-HUMBLE PIE'S Maggie, holding HUMBLE PIE'S jack-o-lanterns, sentiments are Amy R.'s Autumn Collection (C.C.Designs)
Maggie was inked-up with StazOn Jet Black, stamped on Fabriano 140 lbs cold-pressed watercolour paper and coloured with both Reeves Watercolour Pencils and Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolour Sheets.  Her jack-o-lanterns were printed on the Fabriano paper and painted using Nicholson's PT Watercolour Sheets.  I added Judy Kins' Diamond Glaze to Maggie's hair and eyes to provide a little shine.  Studio G (yellow) Glitter Glue was added to the eyes and mouths of the pumpkins.  Some sparkle was also created by using Patina Stickles on the pumpkin stems and vines.  The sentiments were stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black.
  • patterned dp-Making Memories Spook Alley collection
  • cardstock-purple is core'dinations color core, black and orange unknown
  • foam glitter stickers-Making Memories Spook Alley collection
  • bling-kaiserscrapbook rhinestones
  • embossing-cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder
  • ribbon-Go With the Grain (black)
Most of the ingredients for this creation were obtained from Phebe, The Town Scrapper.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend,

Hello and Good Afternoon!!

A couple of tidbits of info that I'd like to share before I provide the recipe for my submission to the HUMBLE PIE BLOG CHALLENGE of the week:

First of all, I 'd like to congratulate our very talented winner of last week's HUMBLE PIE SCALLOPS CHALLENGE, JACILYNN of http://jacilynndashwood.blogspot.com/!  Jacilynn's winnings consisted of $10 in HUMBLE PIE BUCKS to be used towards the purchase of any of HUMBLE PIE'S FABULOUS SWEETIE PIE STAMPS.  Congratulations Jacilynn!!  A special thank you also goes out to our other player in the 'Scallops' challenge, Itzuv.  The kitchen staff at HUMBLE PIE appreciate your efforts and love to see your wonderful creations!  Please keep sharing your delightful designs!!

Now, on to this week's HUMBLE PIE CHALLENGE.  This week the challenge we put forth is to incorporate BUTTONS AND BLING into your creation.  Can a card ever have too many buttons or too much bling? Not in our opinion!! We know we're new on the scene so the use of a HUMBLE PIE STAMP is NOT REQUIRED for this challenge. If you have managed to get your inky fingers on one of our FAB stamps however, we would love to see it in action! The HUMBLE PIE BAKERS have cooked-up a delectable sampling of BUTTON AND BLINGIFIED creations for a little inspiration. Come on, check them out HERE, you won't be disappointed!

My card for BUTTONS AND BLING features our little SWEETIE PIE Ellie.  I LOVE her whimsical appearance, don't you?

Card Details:
  • stamps-Ellie image is one of the cuties from HUMBLE PIE'S new stamp line SWEETIE PIE STAMPS.  The stitching is from Sassafrass Lass Stitched Borders Set and the sentiment was provided compliments of My Favorite Things.
Ellie was stamped on Fabriano 140 lbs cold pressed watercolour paper, with StazOn Jet Black Ink.  She was coloured using both Reeves Watercolour Pencils and Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolour Sheets.  Ellie's shiny hair and eyes created using none other than, Judy Kins Diamond Glaze.  Sparkle of her shirt, shoes and stitching on her jeans all thanks to the indispensible Stickles  collection. Stitched border and sentiment inked-up with VersaFine Onyx Black.
  • design patterned paper-last year's Christmas left-overs....can't remember, but loved it!
  • cardstock- blue is Bazzill, green and red core'dinations Color Core
  • buttons- from everyone and everywhere, including Bo Bunny Tis the Season Buttons
  • bling-rhinestones are Kaiserscrapbook
  • ribbon-Go with the Grain
I had a ton of fun whipping-up this card, love to see what you can concoct.  Visit HUMBLE PIE'S BLOG!!!
